| Hello, We are Brian and George Miller, a Competition BBQ Team out of Kansas. We started competing in 2001 when the small town of Greeley KS from which we originally hail, decided to start a BBQ Competition. Call it peer pressure or machismo or whatever but somehow we found ourselves "entered" into a contest of which we had no earthly idea how anything was done. Fortunately Brian had a particularly helpful friend who had been competing for several years and whom was more than happy to help with advice and instruction. We took Harold's advice and recipes to heart, got ahold of two bullet smokers, and took Reserve Grand Champion the first time out. We were hooked! We continued to compete at only the Greeley Smoke Off every year until August 2005, at which time we cooked in Axtell KS. We took 2nd there and won enough money that we decided to cook in the American Royal contest that October, our first KCBS sanctioned contest. We have gradually expanded our competition schedule up to 6 this last year, 2007, please check the results page for reports from our 2007 schedule. In June of 2004 Brian "retired" from trucking to stay home with his newborn son, and to supplement the household income he began to do a few barbeque catering jobs, offering competition bbq to the public. Since then this enterprise has become a successful venture, locally in the Olathe/Johnson County KS area, with many regular customers in the areas of events and small orders.
